Ian his son wrote: In conversations with my father, he told me that the day of the wedding they had a bad snowstorm and could not get across country to get to Carleton Place because the roads were impassible. They had to come to Ottawa on Highway 17 and take Highway 15 to Carleton Place, and even then it was doubtful at times.²

     At his residence in Carp, on Friday October 13, 1989, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Doris McNeely and loving father of Ian and his wife Joan of Ottawa. Grandfather of Scott, Peter, Todd, Adam and Jesse and predeceased by by his only grandaughter Amy. Brother of Georgina Langstaff of Ottawa and predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Friends may call at the Tubman Funeral Home, Carp Chapel, on Saturday 7 to 9 and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Carp, on Monday at 2p.m.. Internment St. James Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial donation may do so to the Canadian Diabetes Association.¹
