Edith Pauline "Eda" Krienke Cleaning up my C drive I found this note, must be from Laura Newcombe about Adolph's children.

SORRY IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO GET THIS INFORMATION TO YOU. I HAVE BEEN PRETTY BUSY AND AM NOW ABLE TO GET AROUND TO IT. I HAD ROBERT TAKE AND COPY THE PAGES FROM THE BOOK THAT MY BROTHER LARRY HAD MADE UP OF THE FAMILY GENEOLOGY.

I HOPE THIS IS ALL THE BACKGROUND YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. I DO NOT HAVE ALL THE PHOTOS THAT THE FOLKS HAD; ONLY WHAT MY BROTHER PRINTED UP FOR ME. I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ON UNCLE ERNIE, HE WAS SORT OF AN OUTCAST IN OUR FAMILY AS HE HAD A BAD DRINKING PROBLEM, AND MESSED HIMSELF AND HIS FAMILY UP.

I TALKED TO HIM ONCE ABOUT 25 YEARS AGO ON THE PHONE WHEN HE WAS AT AUNT EDITHS APARTMENT, AND HE SOUNDED OKAY THEN. I KEPT IN TOUCH WITH AUNT EDITH BEFORE SHE MOVED TO HAWAII WITH HER DAUGHTER ELAINE. SHE DIED SEVERAL YEARS LATER, AND ONLY HAD ONE OR TWO LETTERS FROM HER. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ANY OF MY COUSINS ARE DOING NOW.

I SAW UNCLE BILL'S KIDS BRIEFLY, HIS OLDEST IS RUTH, WHO HAD BEEN MARRIED 3 TIMES, BILLY AND HIS WIFE LOST THEIR SON TO CANCER, AND THEY SPLIT UP. GRETCHEN OR HELEN MARRIED A FOOTBALL PLAYER, I'M NOT SURE WHICH ONE IT WAS, AND THEY EVENTURALLY GOT A DIVORCE. AS FOR AUNT EDITH'S CHILDREN, GLORIA LIVES IN LOS ANGELES OR DID, AND I DON'T KNOW WHERE BILL OR EDDIE ARE, AND I SUPPOSE ELAINE IS STILL IN HAWAII. HADN'T SEEN UNCLE ERNTE'S CHILDREN SINCE THEY WERE VERY YOUNG. in 2006.4

This happened when his oldest daughter was only 8. She had to take on a heavy load to help her mother raise the family. This went on even after she was married and she gave her oldest child to be raised by a relative since she did not have the time to care for it. She was running some sort of rooming house at the time. on 8 March 1907.

Minnie "Toots" Jolly Lived in South East, Sask
There is a story passed around of a visit between Toots and Walter Krienke at Southey (they were both of similar age, and had spent a lot of their childhood in the same area) when they were in their seventies. She says it was one fight and argument after another. He would say one thing and she would correct him. Example: some Krienke owned a store and Walter was complaining of how hard he worked in the store. Toots corrected this ands stated she was the one who did all the work, Walter only stole the candy.

There are also claims that as Walter was the youngest he was a "little" bit spoiled.

Walter wrote a good part of the Krienke book, but a part was written by Minnie Andrews of Southey. It was also rumoured that one time Walter and Minnie got together and instead of being cordial argued over each others memories of events. It must have been deeply felt since when the book was finally published with Minnies part, Walter used a rasor blade and cut out her pages from all the copies in his possesion. Minnie "Toots" Jolly was also known as Toots.
