IGI has 2 Jan 1870, bap. 9 Dec. 1870 in Lobsens. Can't be the correct Herman right.

Seems there is an entry on the index on #245511 for a marriage between Caroline and Wilhelm Max Krienke in 1869.1,2 He was the son of Karl Ludwig Krienke and Amalie Caroline Giese.
Hermann Wilhelm Krienke married Luise Sasse, daughter of August Sasse and Albertine Wilhelmine Rach, in 1901, at Liepe, , Posen, Germany.1
Hermann Wilhelm Krienke In 1905, Liepe had 469 residents (207 Protestants, 248 Catholics, 14 Jews). The police station was in Samotschin, the Amtsgericht (local court) was in Margonin, the Standesamt (civil registration office) was in Lindenwerder, the Protestant church was in Lindenwerder, and the Catholic church was in Jaktorowo. in 1905, at Village statistics, Liepe, , Posen, Prussia.3
Hermann Wilhelm Krienke died on 27 July 1941, at Liepe, , Posen, Prussia.4
Hermann Wilhelm Krienke From Theron Odlaug, Jan. 2000.

When Hulda left Germany, remaining on the family farm near Leipe, was her half-brother Hermann Kreinke (child from her dad's first marriage) and his family. Hulda went to visit them around 1939. This is what was thought, but the facts do not support this, Herman was not Hulda's half-brother, but a cousin).
In 1996 my Uncle Kenneth Bohnsack sent me a letter that was sent to his church where an Eva Fielitz was looking for relatives of Charles Bohnsack. I started to correspond with her and learned that she was the grand daughter of Hermann. Her brother Edgar Raschewski, as a teenager, had corresponded with Charles after the war and had saved the letters (copies of some of these letters are in attachment 4 with some interesting parts highlighted).
They were forced west in 1945 by Russian soldiers and Polish police and had to leave Leipe and the farm that he told me had been in the Krienke family for over 250 years. (Again not quite correct as the family moved south of the Netze River only about 1835 but had been north in the Radczicz area since possibly 1650 and definately 1700.)
In 1997 my mother Dorothy with my brother Paul and our sons Andrew and Peter visited the eastern part of Germany including Berlin and the long lost Krienke kin in Goerlitz, Germany - a town on the border with Poland. Edgar and Eva were great hosts and they had told us of how Charles helped them survive with clothes, food and money he sent them after the war.

First looked for Hermann on IGI and found two:
Hermann Eduard KRIENKE : Born 6 March 1862, Christening: 16 Mar 1862 Lobsens, Posen, Preussen
Parents: Daniel Krienke and Justine Walter. Films: 0245514, 0245515, 0245517 and 1124904 Lobsens, Posen, Prussia, Evang. Kirche; computer printout, births or christenings, 1840-1874

Hermann Eduard KRIENKE :2 Jan. 1870, Christening: 19 Jan 1870 Lobsens, Posen, Preussen
Parents: Karl Wilhelm Krienke and Dorothea Karoline ROSENAU . Films: 0245514, 0245515, 0245517 and 1124904 Lobsens, Posen, Prussia, Evang. Kirche; computer printout, births or christenings, 1840-1874

Both of the above are not correct for our Hermann since now know he was not born in Kreis Wirsitz but in Kreis Kolmar.

Civil register (handwritten and printed works) of refugees from the former province of Danzig-Westpreußen, Germany, now Gdan'sk and Bydgoszcz provinces in Poland did not have any of this family listed.

As you are most likely aware from history books: 5 million Germans were evicted in 1945 from lands east of the Oder - Neisse rivers. Some very few Germans within the areas of the 1920 Poland borders adopted the Polish nationality and were allowed to remain. To my knowledge none were allowed to stay back in 1945 from the Pommern area, Pomerania.

People were evicted in 1945, on foot, in a general westerly direction, about 5 million people on the move, about 1 million dying in the process, to large western German refugee camps in most instances, with many families split, with soldiers returning from the war and nowhere to go, and nowhere to find their families, after all that chaos, it would be a very very difficult task for you to trace living relatives.
But the Red Cross and others had then some lists of missing relatives. in 2006.
