Charles Croswell was born circa 1806, at, Portsea, , England. ; Kingsworthy or "the manor of King's Worthy" was then two miles north-west of Winchester, and Micheldever (the "hundred" from which her parents came, containing five parishes) two miles further on in the same NE direction.1 He was the son of Charles Croswell and Catherine (?).
Charles Croswell married Rebecca Hobbs, daughter of William Hobbs and Mary (?), on 28 April 1828, at, Hampshire, , England.2 Charles Croswell was buried in 1842 at Grosse Isle Quarantine Station at Grosse Isle, Quebec. He died in 1842 at sea on voyage to Canada.
